Full Job Description
Job: Olympia, WA. FT/PT Small animal only GP, no after hours. If you are looking for a workplace that will appreciate you and your work, see you as a human being, provide support where you need it, and encourage you in your professional goals, we are the place! Full time is a 4-4.5 day work week, pro-sal 22% of gross PLUS benefits, with base negotiable based on experience, no negative accrual, true paid time off (PTO activated after 30 days), CE stipend (covered licenses, PLIT, etc), EAP (employee assistance program from ESI), medical/dental/vision for full-time. Mentoring provided to all new/newer grads or in specific areas requested. Applicants will have full access to staff and associates to ask questions about the workplace. We are looking for a veterinarian who values positivity in the workplace, and has an interest in general practice, to join our independently owned and operated full-service GP in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. If you love rivers, lakes, mountains, trees and greenery, you will love the PNW. We are about 20 minutes south of Olympia, WA. Common hobbies amongst our staff are horses, hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, camping and gardening. We have a wonderful team of well-trained and versatile support staff, EzyVet practice software, digital radiographs, in house labs, all the normal stuff (in addition to cold laser, cryotherapy and a couple other complementary modalities). What is not normal is how hard we work to prioritize boundaries, treat each other with respect, and never stop striving for that sweet spot in the middle of doing everything we can for our patients and clients and maintaining our team members’ quality of life both at work and at home. We prioritize a learning environment—here to get it right, not to be right. Our team members all take pride and ownership in our culture and environment. This area has a good wage to cost-of-living ratio compared to much of the West Coast. We are rural enough to have a good amount of space around us and to see green grass out the windows, but we are still minutes from I-5 and easy access to PDX and SEA airports. About a 3 minutes drive to services for lunch time (food, coffee, gas, etc). Currently there are two full-time and one part-time veterinarian. Practice is under new ownership as of one year ago, and the owner is a member of Uncharted Veterinary Community. Our website is currently under construction and does not reflect the current team. We have the best veterinary team around, and we strive to keep veterinary medicine a joyful and engaging endeavor. On Facebook and IG @scattercreekanimalclinic
Externship: Scatter Creek Animal Clinic welcomes student externs for senior year clinical rotations. We have housing available for one person at a time if needed, in the practice owners home. Please email scattercreekanimalclinic@gmail.com for information. Two week rotations available at this time. We are a full service GP that provides medicine, surgery and dentistry to a large dog and cat patient base. Referral hospitals exist within 30 and 60 minutes drive and our doctors commonly collaborate with specialists to manage complex cases. Hours are M-F 9-5:30 and Saturday 9-1. No after hours services are provided. We are about 90 minutes drive from Seattle and Portland airports and about 20 minutes from Olymipa, WA. Externs will need to arrange their own transportation to Rochester, WA, but once here transport to and from the clinic to housing can be provided. Note that we are rural and walking to anywhere is not feasible, so it is recommended to have your own vehicle for any kind of fun or extracurricular activities. We have four rotations available for the 2022-2023 school year. Students will be allowed to neuter cats, close incisions, assist with surgery, learn anesthetic protocols from experienced technicians, shadow doctors in rooms, learn about the business aspect from practice owner, and more. Practice has modern in-house lab equipment, digital and dental radiography, cold laser, EzyVet electronic records, and an experienced and fun team to learn from. Join us in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for one of your senior externship rotations!
